Give two significant Event, place and reference occurred at Pentecost?

  1. The giving of the 10 Mitzvot (10 Commandment)

    • Location : Mount Sinai
    • Reference : Shemot chapter 19 to 20
    • Comment: In Middrah 5:9 (Ancient Jewish Commentaries) that "When God gave the Torah on Sinai, He displayed untold marvels to Israel with His voice. God spoke and the Voice reverberated throughtout the whole world. It says "And all the people witnessed the thundering.' Note that it does not say the "the thunder but the "the thunderings" wherefore Rabbi Johanan said that God's voice, as it was uttered, split up into 70 voices in 70 languages (Noahs's descendent) so that all nations in the world should understand

  2. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

    • Location :Mount Zion
    • Reference: Acts chapter 2:1-8

"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues (dialeto - dialects) as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues (unknown tongues always be interpreted), as the Spirit was giving them utterance. Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were bewildered because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language. They were amazed and astonished, saying, "Why, are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we each hear them in our own language to which we were born?

The purpose of the coming of the Holy Spirit was to glorify Messiah Yeshua (Yochanan 16:7-14) The Ruah HaKodesh came on the day of Pentecost and filled not just a selected few, but every believer that was present in the upper room (Acts 2:4)

  1. The two loaves represents G_d gathering out from Jews and Gentiles a people unto Himself. For the Body is made up of both Jews and Gentiles, no longer counted as such, but as one in Him, one in the Kingdom of God. (some view this as the Tanakh and Brit Chadashah)

  2. The bread had to be baked with leaven, for prophetically the believer is not personally free from sin. The presence of the Spirit does not expel or altar sin, although by Grace its power is no longer dominant.
